Chryssafinis & Polyviou LLC traces its origins back to 1903, when N.G. Chryssafinis established his legal practice in Cyprus.
Today, with over 120 years of continuous practice to draw upon, Chryssafinis & Polyviou LLC stands as one of Cyprus’ most historic and distinguished law firms.
Chryssafinis & Polyviou LLC employs around 60 members of staff, including more than 30 qualified lawyers. It is based in Nicosia and provides island-wide coverage. The firm frequently works with international law firms and members of its team often contribute to various legal journals and practice guides.
The firm’s Senior Partner, Mr. Polyvios G. Polyviou, has authored numerous books (in both Greek and English) on various legal and political matters and is considered to be a prominent legal authority, both in Cyprus and abroad.
The firm is managed by its Managing Partner, Mrs. Stella Polyviou, who is one of the most well-respected litigators in Cyprus.
Three things make Chryssafinis & Polyviou LLC stand out. First, the breadth of its practice. The firm acts across such diverse areas as banking litigation, corporate and commercial law, competition law, cross-border litigation, constitutional and administrative law, torts (including defamation) and insurance law, public procurement and employment law. The firm’s team of lawyers is large enough to enable it to handle each area as a dedicated specialism per se.
Second, the seniority of its practitioners. The firm has 13 Partners, several with more than 20 years of experience, with some having appeared both before the European Court of Human Rights and the International Court of Justice. Senior associates, who make up approximately one-third of the team, average around 10 years of experience. Taken as a whole, this team profile gives the firm the capacity to manage both high-volume mandates and complex, precedent-setting cases.
