Professional profile
Christos has been an advocate at Chryssafinis & Polyviou LLC since 2022. He holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Kent and an LLM from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2014.
He has particular experience in banking litigation, having acted for major banking institutions in a wide range of complex disputes. Recent work includes successfully opposing an application for the issuance of interim mandatory injunctions against Cyprus’ largest bank concerning the operation of a corporate bank account. He also has experience in commercial litigation and has been actively involved in representing high-profile clients in proceedings concerning the issuance and challenge of ex parte freezing injunctions.
Christos is also a licensed insolvency practitioner and has been appointed as liquidator in both voluntary and compulsory liquidations of Cyprus companies. He was part of the team acting for a Chapter 11 Trustee in obtaining ex parte freezing orders in Cyprus to safeguard the debtor’s assets pending the outcome of the underlying proceedings in the United States. The interim orders were subsequently made absolute, paving the way for a global settlement concerning the debtor’s assets.
